Adams Collection of Comitia Americana on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019. In a release from Stack’s Bowers, they describe this collection as, “unparalleled in the two centuries since American collectors have sought to gather these medals together.” Of particular interest, a silver 1871 Daniel Morgan at Cowpens medal, unique in private hands, will be offered.   The last time this medal crossed the auction block was in 2001, where it broke a 23-year-old world record for the most valuable American medal sold at auction. Chinese-American veterans of World War II will be recognized with a congressional gold medal , according to the authorizing legislation, Public Law 115-337.   According to this legislation, “Chinese Americans served in the United States in every conflict since the Civil War and distinguished themselves in World War II, serving in every theater of war and every branch of service, earning citations for their heroism and honorable service, including the Medal of Honor.”   The act also indicates that as many as 20,000 Chinese-Americana served in the Armed Forces during World War II.
