After two years of effort, the U.S. Mint is ready to release new rules regarding the redemption of bent and mutilated U.S. coinage. They will take effect Jan. 19.
These rules changes were made necessary when it was discovered that counterfeit coins were being submitted in mutlilated form for possible redemption.
